The Falam District Department of High­ways under the Minis­try of Construction is clearing landslides and debris, using heavy ma­chinery along the Kale­wa-Falam-Haka Road between kilometres 127 and 128. Repair work is also underway on dam­aged sections between kilometres 182 and 197, while landslide debris be­tween kilometres 147 and 151 has been cleared and the road repaired.

Officials also inspect­ed repairs to staff hous­ing and public buildings in Tiddim, including the Border Areas and Nation­al Races Youth Develop­ment Training School and a monastic educa­tion school. In Tonzang, officials inspected repairs to the Township Rural Development Office, a cyclone shelter and the hospital.

Myanmar and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a mi­nor development project backed by India in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. The MoU was signed by Mr Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, and U Zaw Lin, Director-Gener­al of Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department.

UNDER the close super­vision of the Rehabilita­tion and Reconstruction Committee in Chin State, rehabilitation and recon­struction work in Falam is currently underway at a rapid pace. 

With the National Disaster Management Fund, solar power is be­ing installed in Falam dis­trict and township-level departments in line with the prioritized office work. Falam district police headquarters and town­ship education head offic­es are now being operated with 6 kV solar power. 

Departmental staff in Falam, Chin State, jointly cleared debris and cleaned Central School Road in Valai Ward yester­day, where buildings and infrastructure had been damaged during violent incidents.
