
The Ministry of Border Affairs held a ceremony to present educational support funds and stationery to the children of its staff for the 2025–2026 academic year at the Ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The ceremony was attended by State Administration Council Member and Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and his wife, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Phyo Thant and his wife, the permanent secretary and his wife, the director-general and his wife, officials and their wives, staff members, students, and their parents.
Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae first emphasized the importance of scholarships and annual support provided to the children of civil servants enrolled in universities, colleges, and basic education schools. He urged students to value this support, continue learning, and develop their skills to secure a bright future. He encouraged them to read widely and integrate knowledge and innovative ideas to become strong, ethical citizens who contribute to the nation’s welfare. He also reminded parents to raise their children as morally upright and well-educated individuals.
Following the speech, the Union minister and his wife, the deputy minister and his wife, and other officials distributed books, tuition fees, and school uniforms to 1,504 students enrolled in universities, colleges, and basic education programmes ranging from elementary to high school for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event warmly welcomed the students and their parents.
