NSPNC, NCA signatories, and political parties’ working group meet on general election

A tripartite meeting involving the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), repre­sentatives from NCA-signato­ry ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), and the political par­ties’ working group took place at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon. 

The meeting was chaired by NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, with partici­pants including NSPNC mem­bers, representatives of NCA signatories, representatives from the political parties’ working group, officials, and others. 

Opening remarks were made by Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Chair Saw Mra Raza Lin, representing NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), and Dr Aye Maung, Chairman of the Arakan Front Party, repre­senting the political parties’ working group. 

Lt-Gen Min Naing, NSP­NC Secretary, provided an overview of the agenda for the meeting. Discussions focused on election-related issues and prioritizing peace and stability to hold a successful election. Participants exchanged views on the necessity of cooper­ation in holding elections in ethnically armed regions.

The meeting concluded with Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung expressing gratitude to all attendees and a group photo marking the event.
