A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Border Af fairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the Constitution and Federalism Conference in New Delhi on 5 and 6 November, at the invitation of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).
Upon arriving on 4 November, the delegation was welcomed by ICWA officials. The conference began on 5 November with opening speeches from Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and ICWA Secretary Smt Nutan Kapoor Mahawar. Experts discussed the roles of the President and Governor under India’s Constitution and federal reorganization, with Myanmar delegates participating actively.
On 6 November, discussions continued on local self-government (Panchayati Raj system) and other constitutional matters. The delegation also met the Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities.
On 5 and 6 November, the Myanmar delegation exchanged views on constitutional and federal matters.
